Mally the police dog!

We had the pleasure of having Mally the Police Dog come to visit us at schol.  It was kind of Trooper Flynn (Morgan's Dad) to escort her.  The students learned about responsibility and some of Mally's daily tasks.

A great big THANK YOU to Trooper Flynn for giving us his time!

All things "sumdog."

Our class has discovered a new online math site.  It is called sumdog.com.  This site is very similar to Raz Kids except it focuses on math skills.  I can set the level for each child and they compete with students all over the US and in some cases other countries.  This is a very safe site.  There is NO chat option and no place for them to put their last names.  Each child has their "person" with which they can "buy" items to improve their "person."  It is game based set at a very fast pace.  I can see from the teacher view what skills they are working on and the number of questions they are doing and getting correct.  Did I mention it is all FREE?  We are very excited.  Along with sumdog at school they can play sumdog at home as well.  Simply go to sumdog.com and log in.  Your child should know their log in and password but if they have trouble remembering send me an email and I will gladly send it to you.  Enjoy and MATH ON!!!

Making a tie blanket for the ACPSC!

With the help of Morgan's mom (Miss Terri) the class made a tie blanket to give to the local ACPCA for the dogs.  The students felt good about themselves that they were able to help keep a dog warm!

Aidan very hard at work!

Samantha's got the hang of it!

October 19th....Donut day.....sort of

Today the students mixed, they mashed and they ate.  I would say they made donuts but it came out more like dough-mash.  Regardless it was a fun way to end a short week.  Everyone tried the dough-mash.  I did not tell them it was good for them.  It was made with 100% pure pumpkin.  No eggs, no oil.  Shhhh.  Keep my secret.  Enjoy the pictures.  Just goes to show kids will eat anything as long as it is presented FUN!

Something is happening...

In case you can't see it that is smoke...or steam???

Epic FAIL

And behold the dough-mash

But it did not stop them from eating it!

Second try...

Third try.....Oh WELL!!!
